Dr. Kaila Lawton

I graduated in 2018 from OVC. As a child, I had always wanted to be a veterinarian, a dream I lost somewhere along the way and rediscovered in my undergraduate studies when I couldn't decide between applying to medical school or pursuing marine biology. I decided on combining the two, and thoroughly love veterinary medicine, everything from guppies to Great Danes. I started at Briarwood Animal Hospital in May of 2019 and have a strong interest in aquatic animal medicine, preventative medicine, behaviour and dermatology. My favourite part about the clinic is being surrounded by other people who love animals on a daily basis.

A fun fact about me is that I have a rescue dog named Meeko, a cat named Hobo that was rescued at 3 days old and a small fish tank. I am also hiking the Bruce trail end-to-end. Growing up we had chinchillas, rabbits, hamsters, ducklings and a goldfish. All at different times so the house wasn't a complete zoo.
