Having a flea infestation can be very challenging, it is crucial that all pets in the house have active treatment for fleas for at least three months to get rid of the whole life cycle.
The majority of the flea lifecycle, unfortunately, lives in the environment. Area sprays and general cleanliness of pet bedding, carpet, hardwood or anywhere your pet spends time will be needed to eradicate the whole lifecycle, without all of the fleas hatching and biting the pet to die (who would be on prevention). Vacuuming alone is not enough to get rid of pupae in the environment, this only activates the pupae to hatch which will allow you to use area treatments to kill them.
