Spaying and Neutering

It is a sad fact that there is a large feral cat population, even in our area. Spaying or neutering your pet truly does help to control the number of cats and kittens that get euthanized each year. Spay or neutering your pet can also minimize the chance of your pet getting certain types of cancer, wandering and fighting. (puppy spay & neuter)

What is spaying or neutering?

Spaying is the surgical removal of the ovaries and the uterus. This procedure prevents unwanted pregnancies and decreases the risk of mammary cancer. Neutering is the surgical removal of both testicles. It eliminates breeding and decreases behaviours such as fighting and urine marking.

When should I neuter/spay my cat?

Each cat is unique and so is the time they should be spayed or neutered. Together with your veterinarian, the best time to perform this procedure will be determined.
